We are Australian exporters of high-quality beef, wool and livestock and operate grazing assets across the continent

OUR OPERATION
In 2002, AV Holdings acquired Australian wool merchant Prouvost Hart (aust) Pty Limited, which was absorbed into AV, and later Standard Wool Australia Pty Ltd. Currently, AV owns broker licenses for both Prouvost Hart and Standard Wool.

AV Holdings brings its 30 years’ international experience in successfully owning and operating grazing assets throughout Queensland, as well as Central Australia, the Northern Territory South Australia and New South Wales. We have partnerships with more than 1000 Aussie producers.
From our 1.4 million square hectares of land we export the best Australian-bred livestock and quality meats (Black Wagyu, Red Wagyu, Black Angus, Hereford, Poll Hereford, Shorthorn, Galloway, and Murray Grey) to customers in South America, North America, the Middle East and South Africa.

Australian Sheep

AV Holdings recommend the Dorper and White Dorper sheep for exporting. These sheep are great because they are both easy to care for and produce a high ROI for the producer, with minimal inputs in term of labour, resources and money. The Dorper breed is characteristically adaptable and performs well across a wide range of environmental and climate conditions.
The Dorper are preferred for their excellent feed utilisation and conversion: they don’t need shearing, crutching and mulesing, and they are disease resistant.
Purebred Dorper rams can reach a live-weight of 90-120 kg and ewes 50-80kg. The Dorper carcass has a good conformation and fat distribution.
The Dorper don’t have a defined breeding season and can breed continually. Their breeding intervals can be as short as 8 months or 3 times in 2 years. Running rams with ewes continuously is one option that may stimulate reproduction, however it is also likely that ewes will adjust their fertility according to conditions.

Australian White Sheep

The relatively new Australian White Sheep, also called the ‘Wagyu of the sheep world’ by many, is taking the industry by storm and getting people excited. An award winning breed, the result of extensive research and world class breeding projects in Australia, the Australian White Sheep is a wooless breed of sheep and is renowned for it’s exceptional eating quality and health benefits.
Just as Wagyu cattle are famous for their marble like qualities and softer unsaturated fats, the Australian White Sheep is now claiming a similar place for its meat.
The Australian White’s heritage boasts the best traits from Poll Dorset, Texel, White Dorper and Van Rooy genes. It has taken many years of line breeding and crossing to develop a good blend of characteristics that take in the right proportions of the aforementioned breeds. The result is a breed of sheep with very marketable points of difference. This is reflected in the ever-growing export demand for this high quality breed.
In terms of eating quality, some think the Australian White is better than Wagyu. The meat quality is high in omega 3 fatty acids and has a low melting point, making it an ideal premium choice for selective consumers.
The hair grows longer in winter and shorter in summer (similar to a horse). In country areas where you can’t get shearers (labour shortages), hairless sheep are ideal, as they have a thick leather-like coat that increases lamb survival rates in cooler climates.
AV Holdings has built its business on passion, commitment and the courage to innovate. We have experience in the supply of Dairy Cattle to would be Dairy farms internationally.
We meet all Australian Government requirements and regulations at every stage of the export process. Ask us about our A2 tissue testing Dairy Cattle procedure.
